Our Story
Los Cantos de la Era was born from a shared dream – a wish to create something meaningful together.
Leena had long carried in her heart a longing for the Mediterranean sun. As an agronomist, Simon dreamed of putting the principles of regenerative farming into a sustainable practice. When the world changed, the war in Ukraine became a turning point for us. That’s when we set our course toward the rugged beauty of the Andalusian mountains – in search of something truly our own.
Between Two Homes, Within Two Rhythms
Our life flows between two places. Winters are spent in the olive groves of Andalusia, following the unhurried rhythm of nature. Summers bring us back to Estonia – close to our people, familiar light, and the sea. As consultants, we work year-round and stay connected with our clients and community. It’s a life that grounds us in both our roots and our dreams.
A Place That Found Its Name – Los Cantos de la Era
Our new property had no name until one day, our Spanish teacher, Rafael, watching a drone video, remarked: “It looks like an old threshing floor – era.” That observation sparked our curiosity, and we began to explore the history of such places. We discovered that these ancient threshing floors were once common here due to the breezy hillsides. Eventually, we landed on the name Los Cantos de la Era, which can mean both “stones of the threshing floor” and “songs of the threshing floor” – a name that connects the property`s past with a poetic sense of history.
The Olive Grove – Where Life Takes Root
The centuries-old olive trees in our grove have grown slowly and steadily – their roots deep in the soil, their sombrero-shaped crowns reaching for light. Caring for them has become a natural part of our daily life. In the beginning, we knew very little about olive growing – but through trial and error, and our incredible mentor Esteban and his team, our knowledge has increased exponentially.
We’re committed to sustainable farming, an approach focused on preserving and enriching soil life. Our oil is not just a product – it’s a story of care, presence, and valuing the land.
A Home Open to Guests
From the summer of 2026, we’ll be welcoming those who seek peace and nature into our home. Los Cantos de la Era will not be just a place to stay – it’s our home, which we will be happy to share.
Here, you will be able slow down, chill , enjoy the views , breathe more deeply, and truly be at ease. Our greatest wish is that every guest will leave more connected to themselves and to nature, with a gentle longing to return someday.
